Dymo’s response to our enquiries about the release of the official Windows 7 driver for Dymo LabelWriter printers is that there is still no release date.
We therefore advise people to use the ‘stable beta’ version of the driver (v8.2.0.820) which can be found here:
Apparently, this works just fine with Windows 7 and we’ve not heard of any problems with it so far.
The Dymo Software Development Kit (SDK) can now be downloaded here:
Dymo Windows SDK
Dymo Mac SDK
The Dymo SDK allows the easy integration of label printing into your applications. Features such as barcodes, text curving & rotation, graphics resizing etc are available to make powerful labelling functions available to you with minimum coding.
(For developers only)
Dymo Label Printers have posted a useful page of information covering the use of the old labelwriters with Vista and Windows 7.
As previously reported here the Dymo Labelwriter 310 driver for Windows 7 & Vista does not support all of the 300 series printers. Dymo Label Printers have proposed a few solutions, but rather than repeat them here you can read them for yourself:
Solutions for unsupported labelwriters with Windows 7 & Vista
We finally have an answer from Dymo as to why some versions of the Labelwriter 320 & 310’s aren’t supported by the new Windows 7 and Vista drivers, while other versions of the same printers are.
Apparently, it’s all down to the usb chipset. It looks like Microsoft may have dropped support for an older USB chipset that is used by some of the old labelwriter printers, and this means that the new OS’s simply can’t detect the hardware – even if emulating XP in a virtual machine.
So that’s pretty final for those unsupported models – the OS simply can’t detect that the labeller is attached because it just doesn’t recognise the particular USB chipset. This means that we can be pretty sure that if it’s not supported now it won’t be supported by any future drivers that may be released.
There are a couple of solutions for those with unsupported printers, as previously mentioned here:
Vista & Windows 7 solutions for unsupported Labelwriter 320 / 310 Machines
The software and drivers for the new Mac OS 10.7 “Lion” is now available for download from the Dymo Label Printer website. This is the link to the driver download page:

You may have problems with your labelwriter no longer being recognised when you upgrade your computer to the latest version of MAC OS X 10.10 (“Yosemite”)
If you experience this problem then upgrade to the latest Dymo software for Macs, which can be found HERE.

You can download the new DLS8.5.2 Mac OS X 10.10 driver for Dymo’s ranges of labelwriter printers from this page:
dymo-labelwriter-450-label-maker (Then click on the DRIVERS tab above the description)
The Dymo Label Software 8.5.1 is supposed to work with Windows 10, but some people have been having problems with the software freezing during startup. Apparently the driver did work on the original base Win10 install, but a windows update “broke” it.
This is a “known issue”, and here is the fix for that problem:
Boom. Job Done.
[UPDATE 11-OCT-15] This fix is specific to this problem. If you’re not having this specific problem, then this specific solution won’t help! (duh)
According to our sources the DLS 8.5.2 software for OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” also appears to work with “El Capitan” public beta.
The Yosemite driver can be downloaded here: LabelWriter 450 (Then click on the DRIVERS tab)
